Meet the Founder
EJ Wright builds talent-led media franchises. Detroit-born, he’s spent over a decade developing the shows, partnerships, and live moments that move culture forward. He’s the founder of 7023, an independent studio working with athletes, brands, and platforms to develop original IP from the ground up.
Most recently, he was Vice President of Talent Relations & Content at Wave Sports + Entertainment, where he co-created and executive produced four #1-charting podcasts: New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Podcast P with Paul George, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, and 7pm in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony. The slate generated tens of millions in revenue from 2021 to 2025. New Heights was named to TIME’s 100 Greatest Podcasts of all time. He also co-created Kelce House, named one of the top events of Super Bowl LVIII weekend, and Holding Court, Wave’s annual NBA tentpole now in its third year.
Before Wave, EJ was a Development Executive at Quibi, working with NBC Universal and Meredith on Daily Essentials — including The Rachel Hollis Show, which launched to #1. At The Players’ Tribune he developed eight original series, including Houseguest with Nate Robinson, the #2 sports show on Facebook Watch. He started in social, running accounts for top NFL, NBA, and NCAA athletes, before joining Snapchat to help build the international content team — producing across Coachella, New York, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks, and the VMAs — and broker partnerships with Atlantic, Roc Nation, Columbia, and Def Jam.
He’s one of the few Black executives operating at this level of sports media. He builds with that in mind — for the talent, for the audience, and for the next ones up.
